The Naim NAP 140 power amplifier is a high-performance amplifier component from the renowned British audio manufacturer, Naim Audio. Designed to deliver powerful and accurate audio, this amplifier is an excellent choice for those seeking to upgrade their hi-fi systems.
The NAP 140 is a Class A/B integrated power amplifier, capable of delivering a total power output of 140 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 280 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This ample power reserve ensures that it can drive a wide range of speakers with ease, delivering dynamic and expressive sound.
This amplifier features Naim's proprietary discrete power amplifier design. Discrete components have the advantage of being more transparent to the audio signal, which results in a purer sound with enhanced clarity and definition. The NAP 140 uses Naim's custom-designed toroidal transformer and high-quality capacitors to deliver a powerful, clean, and detailed sound.
The NAP 140 is also equipped with Naim's advanced drive circuitry that uses current feedback and electronic volume control. These features provide excellent impedance tolerance and eliminate the need for large, complex transformers, resulting in a more compact and efficient design.
The NAP 140 also comes with a handy standby mode to conserve power when not in use, automatically switching to standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. To bring it back to life, simply press the standby button or turn on the source component.
The amplifier comes complete with a set of high-quality inputs and outputs. There are two pairs of single-ended RCA inputs, one pair of balanced XLR inputs, two binding post speaker connections, and a set of Naim's exclusive Speaker Level Inputs for use with Naim sources. These Speaker Level Inputs carry both left and right LFE signals, allowing full subwoofer integration.
This Naim power amplifier comes with a comprehensive set of protection circuitry, including over-current, short-circuit, and overheat protection. These features help ensure both the amplifier and connected speakers are protected against potential damage from surges, shorts, or excessive temperatures.
Finally, the NAP 140 is encased in a robust, solid aluminum chassis, which shields the amplifier's delicate internal components from electromagnetic interference. The product boasts a sleek, minimalist design with a scratch-resistant, anodized finish that seamlessly complements any home audio setup. With its impressive power, transparent sound quality, and durable build, the Naim NAP 140 power amplifier is an excellent investment for any dedicated audiophile.
The Naim NAP 140 XPK2 power amplifier is a high-end audio component that includes 10 XPK2 Niam Audio Output Transformers: 5 x NAC72 N-channel power output transistors, 2 x NAC62 N-channel power output transistors, and 2 x NAT02 discrete N-channel input drivers. Note that the PCB shown in third photo is not included. This kit contains ten replacement leds to repair/refresh an illuminated logo in many Naim olive components NAC72, NAC62, NAP140, hicap, NAT02, etc. They were already out of production by that time and it took a long to find some. Installing these leds in your Naim component will involve some disassembly, soldering old leds, soldering new and re-assembly.
